“Look at you, who is going to catch you with two children?” says Daniela Aránguiz what Jorge Valdivia told her when they were married, she was bored with the infidelities and wanted to separate.
The former member of Mekano recounted more suffering, more pain, more situations that she experienced during the 17 years she was with the former soccer player and father of her two children. Sometimes she got bored, she wanted to break up with her husband, but that’s where the financial fears came in, she told Podemos Hablar:
Julio César Rodríguez: “Why were you bored so late? Why did you last so long? “What was going through your head?”
Daniela Aránguiz: “Fear. Unsafety. Because of his own sayings. ‘Look at you, who is going to catch you with two children?’ Economic pressures and violations. At that time I didn’t work. I would catch him doing something and until I got on his good side, he would take away my cards and go to preseason for weeks. He took all kinds of things from me.
«I was always smart and saved. But it was very scary. She was very young, she was 19 years old when I married this man. She had two buses, who was she going to leave them with, alone in another country? I was afraid to leave him, who was I going to leave my children with? And I wasn’t wrong, when I separated from Jorge, he never gave me another peso for seven months.
“At the beginning of the year I had to pay for four months of school that he owed. The alimony was allocated in the meantime, and he was giving in drips, what he considered he deserved. I received two leases for apartments that we have together, which are not three, but fifteen. And I had two that received the rent, which is not a large amount of money, but I put it in my children’s savings accounts. Those two apartments, one was for a son and the other for the other. Every month. And he changed the leases, he took them away from me.
“So he has been doing thousands of things to make me angry, because I say ‘I had the need to do it’, and it’s not even money that I spend, it’s money that I save for my children for their future.
“About paying bills, I’m not going to lie, he did pay for electricity, water, gas and the house. But supermarket, gasoline to take the children… Here there are many breaches that, more than monetary, are emotional, which is what hurts me the most.
