Something that was thought to be an impossibility has finally come to fruition. The conglomerates of Walt Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery. who are usually rivals in each of the areas they explored, reached an agreement to seek joint benefits.

Through an official statement, the companies announced the launch of a new streaming package that will bring together the Disney+, Hulu and Max platforms.

The pack will begin operating in the summer of this year, that is, in the middle of the year, and will involve an offer for the United States where the three platforms will be offered together, “providing subscribers with the best value in entertainment and a selection unprecedented amount of content from the biggest and most beloved entertainment brands including ABC, CNN, DC, Discovery, Disney, Food Network, FX, HBO, HGTV, Hulu, Marvel, Pixar, Searchlight. , Warner Bros. and many more.”

The new package will be for sale on the web platforms of the three streams, including ad-supported and ad-free levels.

“Following the successful launch of Hulu on Disney+, this new bundle with Max will offer subscribers even more choice and value,” said Joe Earley, President of Direct-to-Consumer, Disney Entertainment. “This incredible new partnership puts subscribers first, giving them access to blockbuster movies, originals, and three massive libraries featuring the best brands and streaming entertainment today.”

Both Disney and Warner Bros. have sought to boost their streaming platforms in recent years. On the one hand, Disney created several platforms, including Star+ in Latin America, but currently wants to condense everything under the same umbrella.

The same happens with Warner, which closed HBO Max to give rise to Max, a platform that incorporated Discovery content.

For now there are no details regarding whether the offer will expand outside the United States, but the platforms seek to consolidate their audience niches, while following the great objective: to take more and more space from Netflix.
