The highly anticipated third season of Bridgerton is about to hit Netflix, bringing with it a new dose of romance in a Shondaland production that promises to captivate viewers.
Based on the bestselling book series by Julia Quinn, The plot follows the lives of members of the influential Bridgerton family as they venture into London high society in search of love during the Regency Era.
However, their journey is complicated by Lady Whistledown, the enigmatic gossip columnist whose growing influence in society puts her at odds with Queen Charlotte. Voiced by Julie Andrews, Lady Whistledown was revealed in the first series to be Penelope, played by Nicola Coughlan.

What to expect in the third season of Bridgerton
In this season, Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan) has given up her dream of conquering Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing what he said about her in the previous season.
Determined to move forward, Penelope chooses to find a husband, ideally someone who will allow her to maintain her independence to remain Lady Whistledown, away from her mother and sisters. However, her own insecurities undermine her attempts to marry him.
Upon returning from his summer trip, Colin brings with him a new perspective, but he is taken aback by the sudden disinterest of Penelope, who has always accepted him as he is.
Hoping to rebuild their friendship, Colin offers to help Penelope gain confidence in finding a suitor. As their bond grows stronger, Colin begins to question whether his feelings for Penelope are simply friendship or something deeper.
Additionally, Penelope deals with distance from Eloise (played by Claudia Jessie), who finds support in an unexpected person. Her time with the Bridgertons also makes it increasingly difficult for Penelope to keep her identity as Lady Whistledown a secret.
