“As sweet as your name (…) I bet on you and you didn’t even roll the dice, two years at my side to return to his side. I have plenty of desire and you follows on Instagram”, so goes the song ‘Red flags’, one of the most viral songs by Marlena, the duo formed by vocalist Ana Legazpi and guitarist Carolina Moyano. A letter that Because of so much reference to the word ‘sweet’, many attributed to Dulceidathe influencer with whom the singer would have had a romance some time ago.

But what is true in all this? Tired of speculation and much gossip on social networks, Ana Legazpi herself clarifies what the hit ‘Red flags’ truly hides and how she handled the criticism she received from the content creator’s fans. “To this day I still don’t know how I managed everything so well. I think thanks to being surrounded by my real friends and my family,” she begins by saying.

“I’m not doing anything wrong. I am singing a story and a truth. My feelings and what has produced that feeling in me. “I’m not talking specifically about someone, but well…” adds the Marlena vocalist. She does so shortly before going on stage at Desalia where the duo has offered an acoustic concert with some of their most iconic songs such as ‘Amor de Verano’, ‘Me Sabe Mal’ or ‘Gitana’.

This range of topics will soon be joined by ‘You’re going to invent’, his next single that will be released this June 14 and will be part of his new album which will go on the market in October. A job in which they are putting all their desire and with which they hope to be able to fulfill their long-awaited desire of at some point getting on stage at the Wizink Center in Madrid or the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona to show their music. “It would be a dream to cross the pond to go to Latin America, to be able to take what we are doing here to other countries,” they say excitedly.

From Benidorm Fest to success

Both Ana Legazpi and Carolina Moyano do not hide that the Benidorm Fest has been a true media springboard for them. “The exposure we had there and being on television opened the door to another type of charming audience (…) These are people who stay with Marlena, not who disappear after the Benidorm Fest fan moment. They are people who support us online and we see them later at concerts,” says the duo’s guitarist. “Going to Eurovision was secondary for us. What we wanted most was for them to give us a face. Many believed that Marlena was a single person or an uncle,” adds Legazpi.

“Eurovision would have been too big for us. Very cool, but heavy. We were really looking forward to our concerts, so we don’t have any thorns in us if we couldn’t go. If we had gone to the contest, we would not have been able to do the tour“, they explain in terms of not having been able to represent Spain.
