Paco Stanley was positioned among the main trends on social networks 25 years after his death due to the premiere of the miniseries ‘Who killed him?’. And the production of Amazon Prime Video revived the unknowns that exist about the murder of the famous driver the June 7, 1999 outside the restaurant ‘The Puddle of the Frogs‘ and the assumptions involved in the case.

The chapters caused a sensation both among the public who experienced the news and among those who had just learned about the case due to how the story was told. However, they also caused a degree of dissatisfaction and disappointment in other people: Paco Stanley’s children.

Paco Stanley’s children They have tried to stay out of the scandal since the miniseries premiered, but their opinion on the matter is known thanks to an interview that Paul Stanley granted for the journalist Adela Micha in 2023.

In that talk, Paco Stanley’s youngest son explained that both he and his brothers had an approach with the production to collaborate on the series about his father. At first they accepted, because they considered that there were still many things to say about it, but when they received a preview of the script, they realized that their objective was different.

“For a long time we talked and said how we wanted to tell the story, that we could support them by interviewing us, my father’s workers, but they just gave us atole with the finger.”

“When they started showing us their fictional story, it was very sensational, really. Yes, it leaves my dad very bad. For example, they send us a fragment where he says that Benito Castro goes to a bar, gets drunk and tells the waiter: ‘Yesterday I saw a man who came and came down from heaven‘, it is figurative and at the same time explicit,” he continued.

It was for that reason that Paco Stanley’s three children made the decision to get off the project and publicly oppose its launch. However, production continued and premiered on May 24, 2024 with the protagonists Roberto Duarte, Belinda, Diego Boneta, Zuria Vega and Luis Gerardo Méndez.

On behalf of his brothers, Paul explained that it is very difficult to relive the murder of their father and the press harassment they suffered after his death.
