The “Fundamentalists of Air Conditioning”, the band that accompanied the leader of “Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota”, Carlos “Indio” Solari, in his solo stage – and continues to play those songs -, returned yesterday to the Estadio Único, renewing thus the link of the City with all the history of Ricotera.
As in other recitals, what seems like a party for some can be a reason for bad mood for others. In particular, in the neighborhood of the property, due to the immense display of public, fences, stalls and street blocks.
“Another recital. Another day with problems getting home. It’s a mess with the street closures,” a neighbor on 25th Avenue told this newspaper that from the window of his house he sees one of the entrances to the Stadium.
With popularity already consolidated, the group that plays the songs published by “Indio” in almost two decades, once again sold out the venues. The complications that a mass gathering suggests did not escape the organization in charge of the show. On the one hand, they announced that those who were left without a ticket could attend the recital through a virtual platform.
Meanwhile, those who got the ticket were asked to carefully follow the map of the entrances, fenced areas and chemical toilets.
At the same time, prior to the show, the band left a message for those attending, pleading to “take care of the neighbors” who live in areas surrounding the stadium.
The last show of “Los Fundamentalistas…” La Plata took place on the same stage, on December 11, 2021. El “Indio”, as he had been doing, appeared via streaming.
Then, the band went on tour in Spain (Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia and Malaga). They also played in Tierra del Fuego, San Luis, Córdoba and Entre Ríos, in addition to Montevideo. In November 2022 they had announced a show at the Estadio Único, for which tickets were even put on sale. However, after a fight with the local municipality, the show was canceled due to “security.” Last night they had revenge.
