Sebastián Martino relives when talking to his family from the Challenge cost a fortune

Talking about the 20 years of Desafío is undoubtedly referring to Sebastián Martino, who, beyond being the judge of the program, is one of the heads in charge of keeping this format current and innovating with tests and editions, managing to be one of those responsible for this becoming the reality show of Colombians.

Sebastián Martino tells an anecdote about the Challenge

Just as the program has evolved, so have telecommunications within production, which is why the judge gives us details of how in these 20 years they have faced one of their biggest challenges during recording: being separated from those around them.

“I remember that in the first Challenge you would go away for three or four months and the only way to communicate with your family was by calling on the phone, which for some is already a bit archaic. You would go to a public one or buy some cards,” explains Sebastián Martino.

Regarding this, the judge adds that it was not so easy to contact them from the hotel: “that cost a fortune, so you had to go to the village, go to a public telephone and dial.”mentioning that beyond what may happen during filming, the human part is also important for those who are part of this format.

On the other hand, Sebastián Martino says that 20 years ago technology was not so abundant for everyone: “In the first Challenge there was only one computer for the entire production and it was in an office” extolling that they were waiting in line to send an email to their relatives, so it was either holding out for this or for the call in town.
