Sergio Jadue, the former president of the National Professional Football Association (ANFP) of Chile, filed a civil lawsuit in the southern district court of Florida, United States, against amazon and others involved in the production of President.
The series, distributed by Prime Video, portrays the Chilean living in North America as the leader of a criminal gang dedicated to defrauding regional football.

The lawsuit, filed on May 31, accuses Amazon of defamation and invasion of privacy, Diario Financiero reported. According to Jadue’s lawyer, Giacomo Bossa“Amazon’s portrayal of Mr. Jadue in ‘El Presidente’ inaccurately represents him, and we seek to address the inaccuracies and harm they could have caused.”
The legal action alleges that the series includes numerous fictitious acts and presents to the former president of the ANFP involved in criminal activities that he did not commit, such as money laundering, bribery and fraud.
Legal action also includes accusations of tortious interference with business relations and invasion of privacy. Jadue’s lawyers argue that Amazon sought to attract an audience at the expense of their client’s reputation and that the falsehoods presented in the series have negatively affected their businesses and commercial opportunities.
In addition, a violation of Florida law is mentioned for unauthorized publications of name or image, since Amazon promoted the series using Jadue’s identity without his consent.
As a result, Jadue would have suffered damage, iincluding loss of income and damage to your reputation.
