Arcane Season 2 will arrive on Netflix next November and will put a definitive end to the series

There is good news and bad news regarding the future of Arcane. The television series inspired by the League of Legends universe has presented a new trailer capable of making any fan’s hair stand on end. The positive part is that everything is progressing adequately towards the premiere of a Season 2 that promises to be even more intense than the first and that will arrive next November to Netflix. The bad thing, however, is that the next chapters will also be the last. Riot Games has confirmed that the series will not have more seasons.

Bad news, but only half

Netflix’s official statement makes it clear: “Season 2, arriving in November 2024, will be the last of Arcane.” However, an important nuance must be made here. The series does not end because it failed in ratings or because they got tired of telling the story of League of Legends. It only ends because the creators consider it to be the best option at a narrative level. “Since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind,” explained the series co-creator through an official Riot Games blog.

“Arcane is only the beginning of a bigger plan to tell stories [de League of Legends] in association with the brilliant animation studio that is Fortiche (…) This is just the first of many stories we want to tell about the world of Runeterra. Vi and Jinx have come a long way to get here. They were characters in the video game, then they appeared in several cinematics and then became the protagonists of their own television series. Their narrative arcs have gone far beyond what we originally dreamed of and we want to give the same treatment to other characters“explained series co-creator Christian Linke.

In this sense, the future of the League of Legends animated series is assured. Christian Linke himself has assured that “they are already working on new projects related to television and film” of which they will share more “towards the end of the year.” “We are still in the early stages [de desarrollo] and these things take a lot of time, but we will reveal news about them as we can,” said Linke. To dispel any doubts, Riot Games He wanted to put a lot of emphasis on the idea of moving forward with this type of work.

Riot Games has a calendar full of events over the coming months, so it is difficult to guess when it will dare to reveal more about the audiovisual projects that are on the way. What should be paid more attention to is the celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of League of Legends next October.

In 3DGames | “It is a matter of top priority.” Riot Games wants to protect Faker after a boycott against the player who has been messing up their training all year.

In 3DGames | Zack Snyder wants you to give Rebel Moon a second chance this summer, the Director’s Cuts of the fantasy and sci-fi epic confirm release date.
