Nelly Moreno had a career that spanned from the late 1970s to the 1990s. Some of her best-known roles were in productions such as “Paloma,” “Bendita lie” and “Escalona.” The performer, who began working on television at the age of 11, abandoned her career in 1995. In several interviews, Moreno has explained the reason why she left acting and what she is currently dedicated to.
The former performer approached Christianity while she was still acting. “It’s as if a panorama had opened up to me, and my order of priorities changed. My career was no longer my life, my everything, it took second place and God came first. I began to make decisions and choose the characters I played (…) And despite that I did the ‘Last Kiss’, without giving myself a kiss,” she said in an interview for La Red.
Later she married actor Mario Ferro, with whom she shared her religious beliefs. Initially, Ella Moreno decided to leave acting to dedicate herself to politics. In 1998 she obtained a seat in the House of Representatives with the Faith of Hope Independent Movement. At the end of her term she decided to dedicate herself completely to Christianity.
“We continue doing what we like, I receive the love of God, change and know that you can have a better life,” explained the former actress, who currently has a church with her husband in Miami, Florida. “It was a decision from God, it was not something I wanted to go through politics. Then we came with my husband and my children to Miami. My husband felt that we should have a church in this place. We settled and everything happened here, we have a very nice church,” she said in an interview with “Día a Día.”
