He has already attested, and very well, to his vocation for this subject and, in general, for science fiction, with feature films such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, ET The Extraterrestrial, and War of the Worlds, among others that are equally box office-busters. .
Although hardly any information has been revealed about the new film that he is now preparing, they do comment that the plot deals with contacts with beings from other planets.
The film still does not have a title, at least it has not been leaked, but its script is by David Koepp, with whom Spielberg collaborated on Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds and Indiana Jones, just to mention some of his most emblematic deliveries.
Universal Pictures announces that the release has been set for May 2026.
According to information from the Hollywood Reporter, Spielberg has already decided who will be the protagonist: Emily Blunt, who is in negotiations to finalize it.
The actress was recently seen in Oppenheimer (for which she was nominated for an Oscar) and in The Specialist, co-starring Ryan Gosling.
