Emiliano Pinsón moved with his speech when he received the Martín Fierro for Best Sports Commentator for his work on Radio con vos. The journalist got on stage and talked about his illness: “We need help and we have to let ourselves be helped. I understood that you don’t get out of Parkinson’s alone, you get out accompanied.”

The commentator spoke about it and said: “There were many people who trusted me. I was very afraid to say it, I didn’t feel encouraged, I was ashamed, and yet, there were people from the radio who told me ‘we want a program for you in the morning.'”

Excited by APTRA’s recognition, Emiliano dedicated a few words to his ex-wife. “Paula, you understood everything, and despite being distanced, you know what family is,” declared Pinsón.

The Martín Fierro winner took a few minutes to talk about his illness and how it was difficult for him to accept it at first. “I want to emphasize that people who have a neurological problem still have things to give, we should not be erased. “We need help and we have to let ourselves be helped”. And he added: “It’s not easy to let them tie your shoelaces or cut your food. At first, I was ashamed, but then I understood that my life had to be like this.”

Pinsón emphasized the importance of living in the present and expressing affection for loved ones. “The past is something that I cannot fix, the future does not depend on me but on the now, and my now is to be a happy guy. I’m sick, I’m a happy guy and I’m moving forward. This is what I ask of all of you, to think about today, not so much about what happened and say ‘I love you’ because love heals.”
