Last March, the mayor of the commune of Isla de Maipo, Juan Pablo Olave (UDI), received various criticisms for participating in a “great woman,” a show that featured a vedetto. But that’s not all, through videos that circulated on social networks, the communal chief was shown dancing to the attendees, while they shouted at him “rich little boy” or “on the ball”, which was denied by Olave although he refuted that he had permission of his “lady.”
However, once again a municipality in Chile Vamos is once again in the news for an event of this nature, since, through its Instagram account, the Municipality of Olivar (RN) announced that it would celebrate Father’s Day on the next 19 June, at the Municipal Theater, and which would feature the participation of vedettes -Noelia Arias and Kary Hidalgo- and two comedy shows.
«We extend a cordial invitation (…) It will be an evening full of humor, laughter, and sensuality, where we will share special moments in honor of all the parents of our community. The mayor of Olivar together with the Municipal Council welcome you to this unique event. Join us to enjoy a memorable night and pay tribute to those who play a fundamental role in our lives,” reads the municipality’s invitation, which is accompanied by a poster of the event, warning that it is for those over 18 years of age.
In addition, the celebration will have buses arriving from the Gultro and Olivar Bajo sectors, which will travel at different times.
However, the instance has generated various criticisms from the residents of the commune, who have classified the celebration as “patriarchal and misogynistic”, pointing directly to the mayor, María Estrella Montero (RN), who was also the communal head of the Olivar during the dictatorship, appointed by Augusto Pinochet -from 1980 to 1992-.
Until the closing of this note, the municipality has not made any statements, while the celebration would continue to take place.
