The long-awaited Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt and produced by Lewis Hamilton of which to date we still do not know much beyond a few brief touches on its plot, has already announced when can we enjoy it in cinemasformat that will arrive before its I go through streaming.
On this occasion and unlike on previous occasions, Apple, producer of a film that will become part of its Apple Original Filmshas been associated with Warner Bros. Pictures for the theatrical release, following its strategy of releasing its films in theaters before bringing them to its streaming service. In the past, Apple has collaborated with other studios such as Sony to launch NapoleonParamount with The Moon Killers and Universal with Argylle, which arrived on Apple TV+ in mid-April.
When will it be released?
The film, inspired by the exciting world of Formula 1, will hit theaters on June 27, 2025 and it is expected that between a month and a half and two months later, it will form part of the Apple TV+ catalog. This film is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who previously worked together on Top Gun: Maverick and they are doing the same in the third part.
In it Brad Pitt will play a returning veteran pilot to Formula 1, while Damson Idris (snowfall, Area of risk) will play his young teammate in APXGP, a fictitious team that will compete in the premier category of four-wheeled asphalt.
In a joint statementApple Original Films and Formula 1 highlighted the magnitude of the project: “The film is a milestone for both sport and cinema, filmed in real time during the grand prix around the world and with the participation of the entire Formula 1 community, including the 10 teams, the drivers, the FIA and the race promoters.
Lewis Hamiltonseven-time Formula 1 world champion, has been involved in the project since its beginnings as producer and advisor, and hopes the film will impress viewers with its innovative real-speed filming techniques. Hamilton explained in an interview that current technology will allow “capturing the true speed and excitement of Formula 1 racing,” something that was previously difficult to achieve in motorsport films.
