Marvel continues to surprise with its new line of Ultimate comics, and evidently, one of those that is attracting the most attention is one of the most popular characters from the House of Ideas. We talk about Spider-Manof course, and a few weeks ago we discovered the alternative origin of Peter Parker’s spider powers.

As we could see, an evil version of Reed Richards -Mr. Fantastic-, known in this universe as The Maker, prevented the radioactive spider from biting Peter, in turn preventing him from ever becoming Spider-Man, doing the same with the rest of the superheroes who would never become Spider-Man. The Maker’s objective was to form a secret council to be the master of the world and that no one would be able to stand up to him.

However, Tony Stark (Iron Lad) had other plans, and traveling six months into the past, he rescued the spider so that it would bite Peter, thus obtaining his powers.. However, the differences with the story we know are more than palpable, to the point that already with his suit – given by Stark himself -, he fights crime in the company of none other than the Green Goblin, which, this does not change much , is Harry Osborn, although in Ultimate Spider-Man they have a cordial relationship, without being friends.

Peter Parker gets his superhero name in Ultimate Spider-Man

But until now, until issue #6, he was just Peter Parker with powers. It was after a fight against Kingpin, who has become the king of crime par excellence, and who also controls the Daily Bugle, when Peter has not been able to hide his wounds with Mary Jane, with whom we remember, he is married and has two children, Richard and May.

It is in this sequence where Peter proposes to his wife that she think of a code name for his superheroic alter ego, something to which she soon finds an answer. “Peter, isn’t it obvious? “You are Spider-Man.”says.
