TVN suffers another surprise dismissal: Promising journalist accuses the channel of being left without culture
After the dismissals of Josefina Valenzuela and Kevin Felgueras, it was the turn of the only journalist left in the culture area at TVN.
TVN was once again hit by a surprise dismissal of a journalist, in a time of restructuring that has left painful departures.
First was Josefina “Pitu” Valenzuela and then Kevin Felguerasfaces of the morning show ‘Buenos Días a Todos’ who received the blue envelope despite spending a lot of time on screen.
This Friday it was Benjamin Estibill’s turna promising journalist who was dedicated to the area of Culture and hosted programs such as “We’re going Vlog” and satellite spaces of the Viña del Mar Festival.
“The TVN arc is over. I will always be grateful for my channel that gave me the tools to be the professional that I am today… I’m not sad, on the contrary, it was something I had been thinking about for a long time because YouTube has done very well for me and this year it has been like having 2 jobs,” he said on his social networks.
Then, interviewed by The Filterthe communicator accused that TVN was left without a cultural area.
“The cultural area, where I was the only journalist, was left without projectsand because “We are going Vlog”, a program that was budgeted for the entire yearthey froze it with the arrival of the new leadershipbecause they clearly didn’t like the content, the form, I don’t know the truth,” he began.
“La Pitu (Valenzuela) left, Kevin (Felgueras) left, Yamila (Reyna) is no longer there, Gino (Costa) left, Paulina Alvarado left. They were like everyone from my generation and the only one left from there was me and I said ‘okay, I’m done’“It was the one that was missing,” he concluded.
