Tango, probably one of the most important musical and cultural expressions of Argentina and Uruguay, will take over the musical city this April, with the presentation of one of its leading exhibitors and a series of tango gatherings for the entire public.

This wave of tango in Ibagué will be crowned by the Banco de la República Concert Season in Ibagué, with the presentation of the Argentine pianist, winner of the Grammy for best Latin jazz album and one of the greatest exponents of ‘New Tango’, Pablo Ziegler. and his trio made up this time of Quique Sinesi and Walter Castro.

This presentation, which has the support of the Tolima Ministry of Culture, will take place at the Tolima Theater on April 4 at 7:00 pm with free admission for the entire public. On this occasion he will bring a program that brings together his most outstanding compositions, along with some by Ástor Piazzolla, such as Michelangelo 70 and Introduction to the Angel.

Tango gatherings

Starting on April 3 and every Wednesday of the same month, the ‘Tangue gatherings: tango in its own voice’ will take place, guided by Oscar A. Contrerastanguero, graduate in music, master in musical studies and author of the “four-finger piano” methodology for teaching harmonic piano.

This space, open and free, will take place at the Cultural Center of the Banco de la República in Ibagué, Darío Echandía Library and is aimed at tango lovers, music lovers, interested in learning about tango.
