A tragic situation engulfed the city of Cipolletti, province of Río Negro. A 23-year-old woman who was eight months pregnant lost her life in a road accident that occurred on Wednesday. Her baby also died.
It happened in the afternoon, at the intersection of National Route 22 and Paso de los Libres, in the aforementioned town. The woman was riding a motorcycle, which was hit by a truck. A man, the driver of the minor vehicle, is in serious condition.
According to what Cipolletti traffic authorities explained, the vehicles involved are an Amarok and a Gilera 200 cc.
The victim was identified as Luciana Belén Ñancupe. Local media reiterated that she lost her life at the same place as the incident, as did her baby. Meanwhile, the driver of the motorcycle received serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
After the incident, the driver of the truck was subjected to breathalyzer tests and investigators also asked to perform blood and urine tests.
From the local Traffic Department they detailed that the intersection is very busy and dangerous at the time in which the crash occurred, since in that time slot it is “traffic collapse” in addition to the fact that the sun in front and the high speed also cause for these events to occur.
