The episodes of public order that have occurred in recent days in the north of Casanare put the authorities of the municipalities of Pore, Nunchía, Paz de Ariporo, Támara and Hato Corozal on high alert.
The most aberrant case is the one that occurs in Támara, located in the foothills of the eastern mountain range, where Mayor William Forero has been the object of threats, apparently by organized criminal groups that operate in this area of the department and that are being investigated. by intelligence agencies.
For this reason, due to the disturbance of public order, a security council was held in the municipality of Támara. Advice requested by the mayor, William Forero and several social leaders of the region, who consider that now that harmony has been cemented between the urban and rural inhabitants of the municipality, violence must be rejected, wherever it comes from.
In addition to the governor, the council had the participation of the commanders of the XVI Brigade of the National Army, the Casanare Police Department and the Casanare Air Group, as well as representatives of the Ombudsman’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office.
Among the commitments agreed to strengthen security in the municipality and the north of the department are the construction of the police station for which the municipal administration will manage the studies and designs and the departmental administration will manage the investment resources.
The offer of a reward of up to 50 million pesos for anyone who provides information about those responsible for the recent attacks related to the burning of buses was ratified.
For its part, the Colombian Air Force will intensify patrols with overflights throughout the department, the Army and Police will reinforce their presence with motorized platoons on the Marginal de la Selva road and the road that leads to the municipality of Támara.
Likewise, protection measures will be reinforced for Mayor William Forero and
Increase in force once the respective incorporations are made and a review of the transfer of the military base that is currently on Santa Barbara Hill will be requested, in order to turn it into a tourist site.
