In the continuity of the Argentine Cup, Deportivo Maipú de Mendoza will play this Thursday against Juventud Unida de San Luis at the Belgrano stadium in Córdoba. And the air trip of the first mentioned team did not go unnoticed for the bad taste joke made by the leader Omar Sperdutti, current owner of the Mendoza league. To the point that it generated chaos at the Cuyo airport of El Plumerillo.

What happened? According to Diario Uno, Sperdutti said that he had “a bomb” in his possession while boarding a commercial trip on the Fly Bondi line. The unfortunate phrase, heard by a passenger who notified a crew member, did not go unnoticed and activated the corresponding security protocol. Immediately afterwards, the flight that was going to transfer to Maipú was delayed and airport activity was paralyzed for almost an hour on Wednesday afternoon, also diverting the landings that had to be made there.

“I jokingly said that I had a bomb, but it was that my son was going to play in the Maipú game against Juventud Unida de San Luis”Sperdutti told Diario Uno. The manager was questioned and searched by the airport police (also the aircraft) and they did not find an explosive device. Indeed, it was a joke. Misplaced, of course.

After a while, the plane was able to take off, but without Sperdutti, who was unable to take the flight. He had to manage on his own to be in Córdoba this Thursday. He was not detained, but we will have to see what other consequences on a personal level it will have from now on when it comes to wanting to board an aircraft of this same airline or others.
