The municipality of Guaitecas, filed before the Court of Appeals of Coyhaique an appeal for the protection of constitutional guarantees against the Regional Presidential Delegation of Aysén and its Provincial counterpart of Aysén, in view of the fact that its community once again lives under energy savings during the night. Situation that has already dragged on for 21 days.
From the municipality, its representative, Mayor Marcos Silva explained that the appeal is already due to fatigue with how the regional authorities have supposedly acted – especially from the Regional Presidential Delegation – accusing indolence.

The annoyance with the Regional Presidential Delegate lies in the fact that this issue was presented to him weeks ago so that the processes could be expedited, particularly to achieve the decree of a communal emergency and receive resources to acquire oil, something that would have made it possible to avoid the situation in which are found today.
As explained by the communal chief, this has not happened because of the Regional Presidential Delegate’s slowness.

According to what Mayor Silva stated, today the problem would be in the Comptroller’s Office, an organization that required more background information to be able to approve the delivery of the resources that are assigned from the Ministry of Energy and the Regional Government, data that would have already been sent.

It should be noted that according to the municipality itself, 2,000 liters of oil are used daily to supply the commune, who more than 20 days ago experienced electrical rationing again; all while now the problem has been brought to justice with the presentation of a protection appeal against the Aysén Regional Presidential Delegation.
