A while ago Efraín Colombo and Francisco Cuestas got together and what started in a talk ended up being “My last letter.” A love song that tells a deep story, with a coastal rhythm that in its matrix keeps a very pure essence, worthy of the region that both singers inhabit. Perhaps this is the beginning of a symbiosis that will last over time.

The folkloric history of the Entre Ríos province and the province of Santa Fe have much in common. The strength of Entre Ríos singing, inherited from the pen and wisdom of Linares Cardozo, Los Hermanos Cuestas, Víctor Velásquez among others; coexists with the strength and energy of Santa Fe song and pen. The poetics of Orlando Vera Cruz, Julio Migno, José Pedroni, Carlos Guastavino, Ariel Ramírez, Horacio Guarany, Roberto Galarza, Miguel Ángel Morelli, among many others that we could mention

For a while, Santa Fe and Entre Ríos, from being two provinces with a lot of folkloric presence in the national repertoire, began to be absent from the big billboards of the country’s big festivals; not because they do not have musical proposals, but because perhaps the weight of what all those named left a bar so high that it is very difficult to overcome.

This union, very federal, may make both provinces shout again at the national level saying that no one stood still here, and construction continued.

Francisco Cuestas: heir, by blood and stage. Son of Néstor, nephew of Rubén, The Cuestas Brothers. In 2014, after traveling a long and successful path with Los Musiqueros Entrerrianos and winning awards, he launched his career as a soloist. He was one of the references who lived in Buenos Aires where many national level artists came to be part of what was at the time the CM folklore ranking; Efraín was one of those who came to his program. The story written by Francisco’s father, Don Néstor Cuestas, makes him today an heir of Entre Rios singing.

Efraín Colombo is a young singer from the province of Santa Fe who has been tracing a path strengthened by author songs, who has just released his third album.

If we have to find a point of union between Francisco and Efraín we can name the Salta author Jorge Rojas, since both have in the repertoire of the singer born in Neuquén former Nocheros songs that they composed with him. This is the case of “It’s not the same”, by Francisco Cuestas and Jorge Rojas, and “My singing”, by Efraín Colombo and Jorge Rojas.
