In the municipality of Samaniego, Nariño, a controversy has broken out after the dissemination of a video in which a young sixth grade student recited a poem in honor of President Gustavo Petro, which he titled Petroman.
The graphic piece has generated accusations of “indoctrination” by Internet users who saw the more than two-minute clip on the social network Facebook. The video, recorded in the streets of this municipality recognized for its inclination towards the policies of the current president, shows the minor dressed formally while exposing his poetic composition.

From admiration, the schoolboy took a tour of the promises and proposals of the first dignitary. He highlighted topics such as economic rebirth, agricultural activation, respect for nature, and a transformation in the health system, and emphasized the dignity of the patient and freedom in medical practice.
His performance was received with enthusiasm by teachers and parents of the educational community, who watched him excitedly during the video recording. However, criticism was immediate.
“Today it is with great pleasure that I am going to dedicate poetry to you. Petroman”said the young man to begin his declamation. He continued: “since the very remote times of Galán and Gaitán, there has not been a great guy born with so much courage and virtues that moved crowds and inspired respect. With pleasure, I introduce myself, with me my people are proud: my name is Gustavo Petro and I am from my Human Colombia. My innovative proposals invite a rebirth; A new dawn will come with productive economies, living energies, clean waters, new sources of work. Agriculture will be reactivated, creating new companies, but most importantly respecting nature,” he exclaimed.
He also stated that “the guns, machines, dredgers and saws will be silenced, the earth will be oxygenated and we will get out of backwardness, we will water love with a hug and finally there will be true justice. The greenery will return in spring; “The countryside will be filled with colors and, making its inhabitants happy during the day, the nightingales will sing again.”
The poetic words also made reference to the initiatives of Gustavo Petro’s administration on health issues and used one of the phrases expressed by the head of state on various occasions about health as a “business.”
“Health will no longer be a business. No more death walks. The patient will be treated with dignity and the doctors will have the opportunity to practice freely. The EPS will stop being a torment, they will turn that story page. The corrupt man will have to pack his suitcase because with Petro he will run out of money. Our nation will move towards progress, the corrupt will go to prison, justice will be impartial, there will no longer be special treatment,” he included in his speech.
Meanwhile, comments about possible political influence on the minor began to be uploaded to the social network. Fundamentally, some users expressed their sadness and concern about what they consider to be “indoctrination” of the minor.
