This Friday, April 26, our country will gradually advance in the reduction of your working hours after the application of the 40 Hour Law. Let us remember that currently our working day is 45 hoursbut starting tomorrow, will decrease to 44 hours during 2024 and is expected to arrive at 40 hours from 2028.

- Gambia: 51 hours.
- Burkina Faso: 50 hours.
- Qatar: 50 hours.
- Lesotho: 50 hours.
- Bangladesh: 49 hours.
- Kenya: 48 hours.
- Lebanon: 48 hours.
- Mongolia: 48 hours.
Fewer hours worked
- Australia: 29 hours.
- Micronesia: 30 hours.
- Somalia: 31 hours.
- Kazakhstan: 31 hours.
- Djibouti: 32 hours.
- Malawi: 34 hours.
- Norway: 34 hours.
- Ghana: 34 hours.
- Germany: 35 hours.
- Swiss: 35 hours.
According to what was reported by the aforementioned media, “Bangladesh has one of the fastest growing economies in the world and is rapidly approaching the category of middle-income country, the platform states. However, Working hours remain long, with 49 hours worked per week”.
The figure, however, contrasts with the 54 hours per week worked by Mauritanian employees waves 56 of Egyptcountries with longest working weeks in the world.
On the other hand, at the opposite extreme, Norwayis among those with the shortest work weeks in the world. At the top of the ranking is Australiawith a 29 hour work week.
