At that moment, the National Gendarmerie agents proceeded to inspect the vehicle. When it was the trailer’s turn, they found 14 bags containing 308 kilos and 700 grams of coca leaves in their natural state.
At that moment, personnel from the intervening Fiscal Unit ordered the seizure of the merchandise while the driver was subject to the case.

The incident occurred at kilometer 56 of National Route No. 51. There, gendarmes from the fixed patrol “Ingeniero Maury” dependent on Squadron 22 “San Antonio de Los Cobres” were stationed, since as a result of various investigations, they had the information of a possible transport of coca leaves. Thus, after surveillance, they saw a Toyota Hilux vehicle approaching, which was traveling towards the city of Salta and tried to escape to evade control.
In this way, the uniformed officers began a chase and stopped the truck near Paraje Incamayo. Once they questioned the driver, the officers inspected the interior of the vehicle and noticed that it was transporting packages with a plant substance in alleged violation. In this context, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of Salta intervened, which ordered the transfer of the vehicle and the load to the seat of the GNA unit.
At that place, GNA personnel verified that the load consisted of 688 kilos of coca leaves, which were seized by order of the Prosecutor’s Office, which also ordered the arrest of the occupant of the truck.
