This Monday, like every April 29, International Dance Day is celebrated. In Córdoba, activities will be carried out in different corners of the city, within what is known as the Media Legua Cultural.

At 11, 15 and 18 there will be interventions at the traffic lights of the Teatro del Libertador San Martín, the Paseo del Buen Pastor, the Ferreyra Palace, the Caraffa Museum and the City of Arts.

It will be a day of expression under the open air in five corners of the city of Córdoba, under the slogan Now Dance, in charge of the contemporary dance area of ​​the province. In Vélez Sarsfield and Duartes Quirós it will be classical dance; in Hipólito Yrigoyen and San Luis, Argentine folklore; in Yrigoyen and Larrañaga, flamenco) in Plaza España Tango will be danced and in Concepción Arenales corner Wenceslao Paunero, contemporary.

The route will begin at the Teatro del Libertador, it will go up Hipólito Yrigoyen Avenue to reach Paseo del Buen Pastor. Then the Palacio Ferreyra Superior Museum of Fine Arts and at the entrance to Sarmiento Park, the Emilio Caraffa Provincial Museum of Fine Arts. It ends in the City of Arts.

Why International Dance Day is celebrated on April 29

UNESCO proclaimed International Dance Day on April 29, 1982. It was at the initiative of the International Dance Committee, belonging to the International Theater Institute, and this date was chosen because it corresponds to the birth of the French dancer, choreographer and writer Jean- Georges Noverre (1727-1810), considered the creator of modern ballet and nicknamed “the Shakespeare of dance.”
