The Ministers of Government and Public Innovation, Fabián Bastia; of Economy, Pablo Olivares; and of Education, José Goity, gave a nightly press conference from Government House in which they evaluated the strike of teachers, state employees and health professionals in the province, on which the discount for the day not worked was determined.
Regarding the measure of force in the educational field, the officials differed from the statements of the teaching unions that assured high compliance. It was Minister Bastia who maintained that this Wednesday 90% of the schools in the province opened.
“There was no homogeneity in the number of children, but there was the commitment of the people of Santa Fe with more than 90% of the schools open,” said the Government Minister. He also assured that “the public administration and the health service functioned normally.”
“The message has been understood: these changes that we propose, which are perhaps difficult in appearance, are what are going to transform this culture, which has to be the commitment and solidarity of public and private workers. The head of Education also maintained that “despite the strike, most of the schools in Santa Fe were open.” And he stressed: “We are going through strike number 12. We believe that this in an open joint venture is not reasonable, it is not logical.”
“We committed to increasing and recomposing salaries every month, to keep the joint venture open permanently and that is what we did, with the maximum possible effort. Therefore, as we say, unemployment is a constitutional right, not paying for the day not worked It is also a right that assists the State,” said Goity.
Salary recomposition
Finally, Olivares reviewed the evolution of the Province’s salary policy in the face of inflation rates. “If we take the month of December, with this proposal that we have formulated, April salaries would be 62% higher than those of December, and those of May, 69% higher, while the official inflation that we have recorded by the CPI until March is 52% and possibly next week Indec will already be publishing April inflation. This means that with the increases that we have been giving throughout this time, we are accompanying the inflationary process.
