The governor of Valle, Dilian Francisca Toro, confirmed on Blu Radio that military intelligence information showed that, apparently, a faction of the Central General Staff (EMC) of the FARC dissidents would be planning to kidnap the deputies of Valle and Cauca . The faction would be from the Western Bloc, which is outside the negotiations with the government of Gustavo Petro.
Colonel Giovanny Cristancho, police commander of the department, said that they were investigating the alleged plan and added that, in response, the Police had already taken “preventive actions to accompany the deputies.”
According to Governor Toro, today they will hold a security council with the authorities to consolidate the protection measures for the Assembly and the deputies.
