A wide representation of the XVII International May Day Brigade of Voluntary Work and Solidarity with Cubaparticipates in a program of activities by the Workers Dayfrom the April 22 to May 4in Havana, Artemisa and Cienfuegos.
Delegations from 27 countries attend the Cuban celebration, with the majority coming from the United States, Ukraine and Ghana; In addition, there are people from Honduras, Greece, Italy, Spain, a female delegation from Korea and Sri Lanka, which for the first time participates with more than a dozen members.
Eugenio Mayón Pérez, Provincial delegate of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, reported that during their stay in Cienfuegos, visitors will see how the link works with workers in vital sectors such as health, education and culture, they will tour the facilities of Oleohidráulica Cienfuegos, as an example of a socialist state company, and the Hernández Leal Specialized Design MiPyME, among other activities.
The Brigade will remain in Cienfuegos from April 25 to 27, and will culminate its stay with a day of volunteer work at the Mártires de Barbados Agricultural Production Cooperative, for weeding vegetables and planting cassava and sweet potato.
