This Wednesday, May 8, the Ministry of Defense through its X account reported that Minister Iván Velásquez received a request from the Central General Staff (Carlos Patiño) from El Pozón, Cartagena, within the framework of the ‘Government with the Neighborhoods’.

The EMC asked Velásquez to initially clear five municipalities in Cauca, with the aim of facilitating the release of the Prosecutor’s Office officials who are kidnapped.

Likewise, the Ministry indicated that it considers “that the area they are requesting is too large,” the trill reads. However, Velásquez assured that “they are in the process of defining the necessary area with intermediation to guarantee security during the release,” the tweet reads.

“They then made a proposal that there be three municipalities, which is what is referred to in the last statement, and what we have insisted is that it be the area necessary to safely release the kidnapped people,” Velásquez told the media. communication.

Finally, the Minister of Defense reported that they are with an intermediary to reach the corresponding area, if it is truly the will of the EMC, as if the Government has it so that the kidnapped people are released with the respective security.
