We invite you to see some of the works that participate in the Official Competition and that are found in the Visual Arts Gallery and in the Laboratory Room, both spaces located on the 3rd floor of the Diffusion Building of the Valparaíso Cultural Park – Ex Cárcel. The spaces are open to the public with free access from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. And you can visit them until Sunday, May 19.

With the presence of more than 85 artists from 9 countries and after 30 years of silence, the XII Valparaíso International Arts Biennial (BIAV) will be inaugurated on Friday, April 19 at the Valparaíso Cultural Park – Former Prisonand will run until June 16, contemplating an Official Competition, Artistic Residencies, an International Pavilion of guest artists, individual exhibitions and various activities around the visual arts, in historic locations of the local art scene, such as the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts – Baburizza Palacethe Municipal Gallery of Arts – Lyon Palaceand the Valparaíso Cultural Park – Former Prisonthree spaces that will receive the Official Competition until May 19.

The XII BIAV established as a central theme the approach of “Critical Territories and Citizenships”a look at the exercise of art in each of the corners, spatial and human, that make up the city-port, from their particular and collective visions, to come together in a citizen, democratic and representative story of today’s Valparaíso, and its evolution towards the future.
