Happy faces, laughter and lots of participation marked the Book Week day held at the Dr. Gustavo Fricke Hospital, with the delivery of books and the interpretation of classic children’s stories, aimed at girls and boys hospitalized at the Viñamarino establishment.

The stellar moment was the arrival of doctors “Chape” and “Cocó, artists from the group “Sanaclown” (volunteering at the Hospital), who gave various interpretations with the aim of taking the public to imaginary worlds.

This was reported by Dalila Vásquez, a kindergarten teacher from the Chile Crece Contigo program.Pediatric Surgical Medical Service, who pointed out that years ago the Hospital decided to establish areas dedicated to the recreation of children, in addition to making their stay in the facility as happy as possible, “We visited the rooms of the pediatric areas, and in addition to giving them books as gifts so that they could take home, as a souvenir of this Book Week. We have spaces that are super friendly for children who are hospitalized, both in pediatric surgical medicine and in children’s methodology.”

The professional expressed herself excited and grateful for the support of the team, “These spaces help us so that children can disconnect from everything tense and all the stress that being in a hospitalization process is for them. As a team we are super happy to be able to contribute our grain of sand to the recovery of these little patients.”

María Isabel Ibarra, mother of little Guillermo, Hospitalized a few days ago, he participated in one of the interventions, playing the grandmother of “Little Red Riding Hood,” a fact that caused immense joy to his son and the other patients in the ward. “very nice, I think it is a topic that not only helps the children, but also the person who is here accompanying, because it takes you a little out of the context that you are in a distressing situation, and apart from that it motivates the children to have a much more positive attitude, so we loved it. We have always been very happy with the attention of Gustavo Fricke. He was born here and here he comes, every time something happens to him.”
