Among the measures that will be carried out are massive takeovers of the neighborhoods, where registration plans and identification of people and vehiclescontrols on establishments open to the public, request for background checks, and closure of establishments that fail to comply with administrative provisions.
“We have a main objective which is the homicide reduction, theft and personal injuries. We have a component of more than 100 units in conjunction with our National Army, Prosecutor’s Office and Immigration, we will be focused on rural areas and on the capture of criminals so that the community of Riohacha and surrounding communities are safe, the strategies will be maintained with the support of the administrative authorities,” indicated the deputy commander of the Police in La Guajira, Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Julián Rodríguez Campo.

For his part, the secretary of Government of RiohachaWilson Rojas, pointed out that they are working throughout the community.
“With the entire inter-institutional team together with the department we are going to work to reduce the rates, 75% of the deaths are in the rural area of Riohacha, in the Camarones sector, Anaime, the Las Palmas sector, and others (… “We will be in all neighborhoods and sectors, we are going to capture the individuals who have harmed citizens, but Riohacha has to be safer with this strategy that is for an indefinite term,” the official explained.
