In the municipality of Yopal, insecurity continues to increase, with several incidents of women victims of attacks with firearms, without clear explanations from the authorities.
Yesterday, April 26, a new case was recorded where a woman was injured in the leg by a gunshot; The incident occurred while the woman was traveling with her husband along Carrera 14, between Calle 24 and Calle 26 in Yopal.
According to the preliminary information provided by the authorities, the woman was hit by a stray bullet, although so far the authorities have not been able to establish the origin of the shot.
After the event, the woman was immediately taken to the Orinoquía Regional Hospital in a taxi, accompanied by her husband.
These incidents reflect a worrying trend toward irregular use of firearms in the region. The presence of illegal firearms is becoming an endemic problem in Casanare and the authorities, both civil and police, have tried to minimize these events.
