In an effort to boost agricultural production and provide reparation to peasant victims of the armed conflict, the National Land Agency delivered 130 hectares of land in the municipality of San Sebastián, Magdalena. This action is part of the agrarian reform that seeks to guarantee that those affected by the conflict are compensated.

CARIBBEAN OPINION In an interview with the national delegate advisor for the Caribbean region of the National Land Agency, Patricia Caicedo Omar, these lands are delivered through formalized and registered peasant associations. After a rigorous analysis, these associations can access these benefits, which contributes to the strengthening of agricultural production in the region.

“On a special day in the country in 10 municipalities, approximately 6,000 hectares of land were simultaneously delivered to these peasant associations. In Magdalena, this benefit to farmers was delivered in the municipalities of San Sebastián and Santa Ana, this in order to strengthen agricultural production in the region,” said Patricia Caicedo.

On the other hand, the national delegate of the National Land Agency, Patricia Caicedo, pointed out that in the municipality of Santa Ana, nearly 1,000 hectares of land will be delivered to 65 peasant families as part of an economic development project in this area of ​​the department. of the Magdalena. These actions seek to guarantee the food security of farmers and promote sustainable development in rural areas.

In addition, Patricia Caicedo announced that these benefits for farmers in Magdalena from the National Land Agency will also be extended to the municipalities of El Banco, Chibolo, San Ángel, Fundación, Pivijay, among others. “There will be a massive purchase of land in Magdalena to be able to deliver it to the farmers,” said the national advisor delegate for the Caribbean region of the National Land Agency, Patricia Caicedo Omar.
