A 77-year-old man was captured in San Gil, Santander, and sent to prison for the crime of sexual intercourse with a minor under 14 years of age.
The National Police and the Technical Investigation Corps, CTI, of the Prosecutor’s Office managed to capture the elderly adult who was recognized in the San Gil market square.
The accused was already being investigated for sexually abusing a minor under 14 years of age repeatedly during 2015, in the El Vergel neighborhood of ‘Perla del Fonce’. The man captured today is accused of committing ‘touching’ and humiliation against the victim.
After being presented at a hearing before the San José Valley Court, his capture was legalized, charges were brought against him and an intramural security measure was issued.
Sexual abuse in Santander: man captured for kidnapping a girl
A man, identified as Orlando Meza Quiñónez, was captured in San Gil by the Section of the Technical Investigation Corps, CTI, of Santander for the crime of trafficking of girls, boys and adolescents.
The authorities arrived in the San Juan de Dios neighborhood of San Gil around 8:40 in the morning this Friday, April 26, to enforce the arrest warrant issued by the Promiscuous Municipal Court of the San José Valley.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Orlando Meza, a native of Aratoca, Santander, would have paid a sum of money in exchange for a 13-year-old minor from the Wayuu indigenous community, in Riohacha, La Guajira. The accused would have traveled to this city in January 2013 to access the minor.
The investigation confirms that the man captured today intended to systematically abuse the minor. For this reason, he moved her to her rural property in the Clavellinas village, in the municipality of Aratoca, Santander.
There, according to authorities, Orlando Meza would have sexually abused the minor on several occasions. For which they charged him with the crime of abusive sexual intercourse with a minor under 14 years of age.
