This Saturday in the main city – with the participation of the 29 Zone Defense Councils, companies and entities – and on Sunday in the remaining municipalities of Santiago de Cuba, exercises will be held on the Territorial Defense Day.
These are headed by Beatriz Johnson Urrutia and Manuel Falcón Hernández, President and Vice President of the Provincial Defense Council.
The event took place in the morning at the Agüero-Mar Verde Council, with the objective of preparing personnel and the population to carry out missions in time of war.
The exercise was divided there into three stages: the actions of the Zone during the putting into complete combat readiness and for Defense; in the systematic attrition of the enemy, and in the rejection of the latter, when he tries to penetrate the area.
The exercise led by the Civil Defense took place to carry out the evacuation of personnel affected by the enemy’s actions, in coordination with Public Health of the Defense Zone.
The Frank País Polyclinic carried out one of its functions in this context, that of providing primary care to the injured. The Council carried out several activities with the Culture, Recreation and Sports Group to pay attention to the psychological factor of the population in war situations.
The estimated duration of the actions is four hours. The Municipal Defense Council participates as leader of the Territorial Day and the entities that fulfill the assigned missions; Let’s say those that continue and carry out the transition from peace time to war time, the companies that are deactivated and those that have a mobilization reserve, where they specify and complete the process of evacuation of the reserve.
At the same time, different practical activities are carried out to increase the preparation of personnel in the fulfillment of their mission. Shooting exercises will be carried out in Districts 2, 3 and 4 of the Party and the Government, as well as the Hygiene and Epidemiology center.
