Havana Cuba. – More than 750 delegates from all continents are in Havana to participate in the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba and against Imperialism that will take place in Havana, from April 30 to May 2.
The event, sponsored by the Cuban Workers’ Union, the National Unions and the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, will begin in work centers and will conclude at the Convention Palace.
Ismael Drullet Pérez, member of the national secretariat of the CTC, informed the press this Saturday that the event has the general objective of strengthening global solidarity with the Cuban people and the Revolution, inspired by Fidel’s legacy.
He added that to date, 1,144 guests have ratified their presence at the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba and against Imperialism.
Builders on May Day
With the start of the World Day on Safety and Health at Work in Havana’s Contingente Blas Roca Calderío, the National Construction Union began the central activities for May Day
Delegates from Peru, Uruguay and Australia condemned the effects of the United States blockade on comprehensive worker protection in Cuba and also in the exchange on the subject at the Workshop Equipment Company in the Havana sector.
Misael Rodríguez Llanes, general secretary of the National Construction Union, reported that the dialogue will continue this Sunday at the CTC Convention Center of Matanzas on food sovereignty.
The Ministry of Construction, the Cuban Institute of Hydraulic Resources and the Union, sponsor the world day for the celebration of May Day on the effects of the blockade.
