Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello, through the ‘Mayorship to the neighborhood’ program, continues to reach the different sectors of the city, listening to the community and bringing the institutional offer to meet their needs.
On this occasion, the president was present in the Portal de las Avenidas neighborhood, where he was invited by the community to address a specific topic, sewage. In response to this request, the mayor reassured the community, stating that it is a priority issue on the mayor’s agenda.
“I want to thank you for the invitation, as well as tell you that whenever you need us, we will be here. For this administration, the community comes first, we are clear about the problems of the sector. During the campaign I told them that once we got to the Mayor’s Office we would return, and here we are, to comply with them and find a solution to the sewage system that they have been managing for years. Rest assured that we are going to make it a reality, this administration is going to comply with the Portal de las Avenidas,” said the president.
For his part, Luis Felipe Gutiérrez, Infrastructure Manager, explained to the community that the sector’s sewage project was outdated. However, the Infrastructure management began work on updating and restructuring it according to the mayor’s guidelines, and with the support of the Councilor, Jaime Linero, who has been attentive to this community and its main problems.
The Engineer also assured that progress is being made very quickly in the last face of the project, so in mid-June the completion of the studies for this project is estimated, which includes the topographic analysis, the right of way , among other elements that had not been contemplated in the past, but that are necessary for the success of the work.
Finally, the mayor addressed the community stating that: “We are going little by little, but with concrete results for the benefit of the community, we have been working since January 1st both for the Portal de las Avenidas and for all the neighborhoods. We work tirelessly to close the gaps that the District has today, and sewerage is one of our priorities,” highlighted the District’s first authority.
Finally, the community thanked the mayor and his work team for the presence, highlighting that this gesture is a sign of commitment, since never before had a mayor come to the sector. They also stated that the community is committed to working to make the sewer network a reality and put an end to the apathy they suffer today with septic tanks.
