Félix Duarte Ortega, president of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), called on the peasant family from all the provinces of the country to participate in the parade for International Workers’ Day, next May Day.

“We call on the peasant family to be present alongside our working class, in the mobilization for International Workers’ Day, in squares and communities, under the slogan For Cuba, together we create,” the leader announced at the event for the celebration. of the Agricultural Cooperative Movement, on the occasion of celebrating the 45th Anniversary of the founding of the Avilanian CPA Paquito González, the country’s flagship in agricultural production.

He highlighted in his speech that Cuban cooperative members and farmers contribute actions to their communities of residence, with constructive renovations to public health service centers, educational institutions, commerce units and sports centers, in addition to food supplies to maternity homes, hospitals and children’s circles.

“The economic battle, he said, is a priority and we have a high responsibility, which demands the participation and contribution of all farmers and cooperatives in the social, political, economic and productive order, with more creativity and efficiency.”

During the meeting, the President of the ANAP referred to the process of strengthening the management structures of the cooperatives, with a vision of continuity and improvement, in which the peasant organization assumes great responsibility.

«All of this, he expressed, is aimed at achieving greater influence on organic functioning, increasing food production, economic and social development in the countryside, for the benefit of the transformations of the agricultural sector to increase the contribution to the economy. from the country”.

He announced that next May the ANAP will convene the XIII Congress of the organization, which will support the Government’s projections to eliminate distortions in the economy, a process that requires attention, control and monitoring by the associates, the boards of directors and the assemblies at the different levels of management.

He called for the peasantry to objectively define what they have to contribute, with efficient use of the land fund, the collective delivery of agricultural areas to the CCS, the diversification of production and the better use of resources.

Duarte Ortega asserted that it is necessary to strengthen the movement of advanced producers; knowledge management; the application of science, innovation, agroecology; caring for the environment and generating the best experiences, based on promoting development and increasing production and efficiency.

«Before thinking about what is missing, he assured, it is essential to stimulate savings and generalize the culture of good work; “Use productive reserves to the maximum and, above all, support the Economy Plan, in accordance with the Law of Food Sovereignty and Nutritional Education.”
