This Sunday a devastating fire broke out in the Las Marias del Valle neighborhood, from the town of San martin de los andes. The flames completely consumed the structure of a house of more than 200 square meters. There were no injuries reported.
The flames broke out this morning, around 08:30. It was the residents of the sector themselves who alerted the authorities.
The five occupants of the affected home managed to get out in time, after jumping from the first floor. They are out of danger, as they did not suffer injuries.
The residence had “widespread fire” at the time of the Firefighters’ arrival. The structure was composed of iron, wood and cellulose insulationwhich facilitated the advance of the flames.
According to the authorities, the losses were total and The causes of the accident are unknown at the moment.
Personnel from Las Marías del Valle, airport firefighters and three teams of volunteer firefighters worked at the scene.
