Tragedy in military training: soldier dies on the march to the Army barracks in Putre

In an official statement issued by the Motorized Brigade No. 24 “Huamachuco” of the VI Division of Armyit was reported about the death of a soldier during an instruction in the commune of Putre, Arica and Parinacota region, on April 27.

In the text, it is reported that the events occurred during an instruction march towards the military barracks, where the conscript presented respiratory problems during a break. As a result, the affected person was immediately transferred to the infirmary of the training facility, where he received medical attention and was stabilized by the nurse.

However, he was later transferred to Family Health Center (Cesfam) Putrewhere unfortunately his death was confirmed.

Likewise, the statement indicated that, in accordance with current provisions, protocols were immediately activated with Carabineros of Chile and the Prosecutor’s Office Military, who were established at the scene of the incident. Additionally, we contacted the relatives of the deceased soldier, “who are being given all the necessary support in these difficult circumstances.”
