The Mayor’s Office and the Metropolitan Police of Ibagué visited several bars and nightclubs located in the Siete commune, in order to verify the intensity and noise limits.

“We are carrying out operations to establish the noise pollution of these establishments and thus guarantee peace of mind for the community. These actions have been a request from our Mayor,” said Francisco Espín, director of Justice.

Of the places visited, seven exceeded the noise limits, some finding 90 decibels, when what is allowed by the norm is 60 in residential areas.

“These actions are intended to make people aware of the importance of noise moderation. We recommend that citizens and merchants be able to abide by the different norms and laws, in order to improve our coexistence and our security,” said Colonel Alexander Cendales.

These operations will continue throughout the city, with sound level meter in hand, to continue guaranteeing quiet spaces without abuse in the volume and intensity of sound.
