One miner dead and another injured They were found during the early hours of this Sunday in the municipality of Buriticá in facts that are the subject of investigation.

According to the first reports, the bodies were found by the authorities during the first hours of this April 28 and correspond to those of two miners from 28 and 33 years oldwho, apparently, worked in an illegal mine.

Although for now it is not clear how both were seriously injured, it was known that the body of the deceased miner he would have multiple blows to his headwhich would point to an accident.

For his part, the second miner who was found alive also had bruises and lacerations that would fit with a fall into a sinkhole.

In the case of this last victim, he was initially evaluated by medical personnel and was then transferred to the Buriticá Hospital, where it remains under observation.

Meanwhile, the body of the 28-year-old miner He was transferred to the municipal morguewhere a forensic team will seek to clarify the causes and conditions of his death.

This new episode once again revived the debate in the municipality over the advance of illegal mining, which in addition to having communicating vessels with organized crime structures with a presence in the West Antioquiahas also become a front of constant risk for hundreds of workers who carry out their work without any control.

Under this panorama, companies such as the multinational Zijin Continental Gold have issued a repeated call to the National Government so that these activities are controlled, with a view to respecting their mining title and stopping the deaths of informal workers.

So far this year, the number of illegal miners who have died in Buriticá rises to 6including a group of three other workers who were found dead on the side of the road between Medellín and Urabá at the end of this month.
