The Ministry of Health reports that during Epidemiological Week 17, from April 22 to 28, 2024, 651 new cases of Dengue and 1 death from Dengue were recorded.
The accumulated total of cases in 2024 is 10,580, of which 31 correspond to the Ambato department, 35 to Ancasti, 125 to Andalgalá, 57 to Belén, 396 to Capayán, 7,707 to Capital, 4 to El Alto, 176 to Fray Mamerto Esquiú, 498 to La Paz, 36 to Paclín, 237 to Pomán, 1 to Santa María, 364 to Santa Rosa, 88 to Tinogasta, 710 to Valle Viejo and 115 under investigation. Of the total cases, 7,087 are considered indigenous, 68 imported and 3,425 under investigation.
In the last Epidemiological Week, the death of a 40-year-old patient, admitted to a private institution in the Capital, was reported. The total number of deaths in 2024 is 13 people, of which 9 had underlying pathologies and 1 had a history of having suffered from Dengue.
The community is asked to maintain and intensify prevention measures, eliminating all containers that may accumulate water and generate mosquito breeding sites, as well as avoid mosquito bites through the use of body and environmental repellents.
