It is time to act firmly in the face of the educational crisis

The constant road blockades due to the negligence of Sister Inés Larrahondo, Secretary of Education, damage the image of the Governor and generate divisions in the educational community, threatening his attempts to strengthen unity among Caucanos.

Dear Governor Octavio Guzmán,

As a media company committed to transparency and the well-being of Caucanos, we are obliged to raise our voice in the face of the worrying situation that the educational sector is going through in our department.

Although we value their efforts to strengthen the ties of brotherhood among the inhabitants of Cauca, it is imperative to decisively address the problem of the recurring road blockades that undermine their image and seriously harm our society.

The blockades are an alarming symptom of the lack of timely attention from the Ministry of Education, headed by Sister Inés Larrahondo. It is evident that this official has not been diligent in addressing the legitimate requests of the educational community, particularly with regard to the adequate assignment of teachers in each institution of the department.

But beyond this negligence, what is truly unacceptable is the lack of empathy and cordiality demonstrated by Secretary Larrahondo when dealing with the different actors in the educational community. This dismissive attitude not only undermines trust in the authorities, but also sows discord and deepens divisions at a time when unity and constructive dialogue are required.

Governor Guzmán, the people of Caucano have placed their trust in you and in your firm purpose to build ties of brotherhood. However, this educational crisis threatens to undermine his efforts and undermine the credibility of his administration. It is time to act with determination and leadership, without further delay.

We urge you to take action on the matter and address the root causes that have led to this alarming situation. Objectively evaluate the performance of the Secretary of Education Sor Inés Larrahondo Carabalí and, if necessary, consider the possibility of making the pertinent changes to benefit the well-being of our children and young people, who represent the future of this region.

Cauca deserves quality education, an efficient and transparent system, and leadership committed to the values of empathy, cordiality and social justice. As governor, you have the responsibility and opportunity to lead this momentous change.

Let us act now, before it is too late, to guarantee a promising future for all Caucanos.
