The experience Mendoza Educational Expo 2024 is already underway. This new edition will take place on Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Las Naves complex (UNCUYO, Cultural, Creative, and La Báscula) with the virtual complement that will be given through the official page www. .expoeducativa.mendoza.edu.ar

The objective of the Expo is to begin with a tour of the platform and end with the in-person participation of those interested.

The formal beginning occurred with the signing of a letter of adhesion between the participating educational institutions. In that context, Esther Sanchez, rector of the National University of Cuyo, expressed the pleasure of receiving the participating authorities in these difficult times: “Today is a day of celebration because we are all working with a common goal. Because, despite the circumstances, we do not stay still. And this is a sign of “We continue our task with the same energy, perhaps even with more energy. Because this is about the fight for education and for public education.”

Regarding the latter, he clarified that talking about public education is talking about public and private management: “This is the reason why we are all here today. We are all protagonists who have to do with education, with meeting that objective of sustainable development of a quality education. We have been working on quality education for many years. And this has also been demonstrated in this recognition from society in recent days.”

The Rector valued collaborative work and thanked everyone for always working for an increasingly better education. “Today objectives cannot be achieved, challenges cannot be resolved if we do not work collaboratively,” she stated.

Regarding the news of the Expo, Sanchez stressed that this edition has to do with the new profile of future students. “We have called this renewed vision Path to discover. Today our students, our young people, want to discover their own paths. And they are curious. And how the university and education in general have to accompany them in these processes. This is the imprint that has been given to this educational expo. Working before, during and after the educational expo. Because without a doubt the strongest work is not the one of the presentation, but the one that comes after,” he summarized.

Fabiana Molina, Academic Secretary of UNCUYO, referred to the letter of adhesion from 12 actors who will participate on May 30 and 31 at the Educational Expo. In this regard, he said that for two months they have been working hard and collaboratively with the aim of establishing certain work guidelines in which everyone is aware of where they are going.

He highlighted that this year the Educational Expo is designed from a renewed perspective, an immersive and sustainable perspective. Immersive because it tries to generate exploratory experiences in future university students before, during and after the Expo. Along these lines, he argued that “first, a period of prior awareness-raising activities is planned in which work is being done with the guiding teams to publicize certain characteristics of this space that is already on the agenda of the community of Mendoza and, above all, everything, to help them ask themselves questions: how do they see themselves? What do they want at this moment in their life and thus help them decide.

Molina announced that during the Expo there will be different activities including talks, workshops, recreational and recreational activities so that future students have different experiences of the educational offer that they will have in this space. And then the famous Open Faculty, already planned for August.

Before the Expo there will be a virtual space on the website where you will be able to browse to learn about the different educational offers of these twelve actors who will participate.

Reciprocal benefits

On behalf of private universities, Daniel Miranda, rector of UMaza, He highlighted the pleasure of being once again at the signing of this agreement between the different universities, both private and state. Regarding the role of private companies, he said that Mendoza has the largest number within the interior of the country, after the metropolitan area. “So participating in the Educational Expo 2024 speaks to the fact that there are strategic alliances that really have to be taken into account.” He added the wish that this edition be extremely successful and, above all, very useful for young people.

In relation to the reciprocal benefits of the agreement, Miranda clarified that the greatest benefit of this associative and reciprocal activity is for the young people of Mendoza: “Because, undoubtedly, in a single area, in approximately two or three days, they have complete information about all the careers, all the offer they can have within the province. That is very important and, above all, for young people from the interior of the province.

Tadeo García Zalazar, Minister of Education, Culture, Children and General Director of Schools of Mendoza, also participated in the signing.

A 360 experience

The academic and professional offering can be found in person on 360-degree islands in the Weighing machine. That is, the public will have available all the races offered in Mendoza. For this proposal, the experience, installed since 2019, of zero paper and the delivery of sustainable material will continue. In addition, the Expo Educativa Mendoza website and social networks will be used as digital support to interact with participants.

Activities and workshops

In the UNCUYO Ship There will be vocational guidance workshops in the theater and mirror rooms (East side of the building – on Maza Street) and talks on related topics in the Green and Blue rooms (West side of the building – near La Báscula).

In the Multipurpose Room of the Cultural Ship Samples corresponding to each participating institution, laboratories and health-related activities will be installed: vaccinations, visual acuity exams, high blood pressure control and awareness talks on STDs, HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B.

In the Creative Ship Leisure-recreational activities will be carried out by the different institutions and you will be able to find a gastronomic patio offered by the Mendoza Food Truck Association.

In the outdoor spaces you can enjoy recreational-artistic-reflective activities on the different processes of vocational choice. The intention is to promote reflection, interaction and public participation.
