On May 12, a poetry reel contest “Toucans of feathers and letters” will be held for Toucan Day, organized by the group Tucanes en mi Jujuy (Preservation and Protection Program of the Large Toucan.

Inecoa (Conicet-National University of Jujuy) launched three contests in relation to this topic, one for poetry “Tucanes de papel y letra” (let your verses fly), another for reels, and another for photography “Tucanes desde mi viento”.

The one about poetry

It will take place on May 12, at the Toucan Festival. The invitation is to immerse our senses in the natural environment that surrounds us (sounds, colors, smells). “Whether it’s getting the sun on your face on the banks of the Xibi Xibi, or even in Plaza Belgrano, or contemplating everything from the top of some viewpoint. Walking barefoot on the grass, or looking at the sky in the patio. Or, why not? what not?, receiving a visit from a feather-wearing neighbor,” the invitation says. The idea is to connect with Pacha, and with pen and letter, create verses.

Writers of all ages, professional or amateur, can participate.

The works will be presented on the 12th of this month in San Salvador de Jujuy, and the winners will be chosen by the public present.

The registration form, bases and conditions are found in the bio of the Tucanes profile in Mi Jujuy and can be accessed by scanning the QR. Information is also found in featured stories.

The one with reels

The proposal consists of uploading a poem on a reel, from the 4th to the 11th of this month, and whoever gets the most likes will win prizes.

The members of the organizing group will also award a special mention. The invitation is for writers of all ages, professionals and amateurs, to display the magic and love for the Toucans in those reels!” says the Instagram (IG) post of the contest.

To participate you first have to follow the social media account: @TucanesEnMiJujuy; fill out the registration form found in the description of that profile; share the post in stories and tag @TucanesEnMiJujuy; upload the reel to Instagram with the hashtag #TucanesEnAccion from the 4th to the 11th of this month until 10 p.m., and tag; and finally share it with friends.

Reels cannot last more than 1 minute.

They can tell a story, a joke, an anecdote about these winged neighbors. “Any idea is welcome, we value creativity, originality, teamwork and fun,” say the organizers, “we are looking for creative, fun and original reels that show your love for toucans and nature.”

The one with photographs

Registrations will be received until the 10th of this month, and the exhibition will be on the 12th, within the framework of Toucan Week.
