Corrientes: They were driving drunk and were involved in an accident
Although the capital’s streets were seen with little traffic during the Labor Day holiday, during the morning two serious incidents were recorded that were carried out by highly intoxicated drivers.
One of them occurred at the intersection of Libertad Avenue and Unne Street, where a road accident occurred between a Lifan truck and a Ford Fiesta car.
Due to the violence of the impact, the car ended up on the sidewalk of a wholesale supermarket and two women who were passengers in that vehicle were injured and had to be taken to the Escuela hospital.
Inspectors from the Traffic Department carried out breathalyzer tests on the drivers of both vehicles at the scene, resulting in positive results for both the driver of the truck, with 1.59 grams of alcohol in the blood, and the driver of the car, with 0. fifty.
Persecution
The second incident took place at the intersection of Ombú and Medrano streets, where a motorcyclist evaded a checkpoint and in doing so almost hit a traffic inspector.
Immediately, police officers from the Motorized Immediate Response Group (Grim) who were in the area began to pursue the escaped motorcyclist in a chase that extended for about 30 blocks, to Pomar Avenue and Rizzuto Street, where he was caught.
The subject was subjected to a breathalyzer test which showed that he had 1.98 grams of alcohol in his blood.
Additionally, a police officer had to be taken to the hospital due to injuries he suffered during the chase.
