The artistic collective, recognized for its creative work for children, premieres its sixth stage work, called “Solo Solito”, in a circuit of performances through different cultural spaces in the regions of La Araucanía and Biobío, between the 7th and the 24th. of May.
“Solo Solito”, a work that invites us to reflect on attachment and detachment through sound and visual universes, was possible thanks to the financing of the 2023 Performing Arts Funds, from the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage.
With a premiere circuit through the regions of La Araucanía and Biobío during the month of May, the Teatro de Ocasión stage collective will present its new work “Just Alone”, sixth production in a career dedicated to creation for childhood. This premiere is characterized by several elements that make it a unique process, since not only is it his first one-man show in his more than 10 years of experience, but also, as a dramaturgical pulse, it addresses a complex theme such as attachment experiences and detachment in the course of life. The tour will begin in La Araucanía on May 7, with performances in the cities of Villarrica, Renaico and Temuco; and will end in the Biobío region, on Friday, May 24, with presentations at the Sala Artistas del Acero, in Concepción. All performances are free and for family audiences.
“In our work we always seek to illuminate topics that are not usually addressed. Therefore, within the creative laboratory, we are experimenting with how to reach them with elements that contain poetry, humanity, complicity, always seeking simplicity and synthesis,” comments the playwright and director of the play, Fernanda Carrasco Blancaire.
“We were motivated to talk about attachment, detachment, the journey of life and how we transform ourselves in it, and also about the people who are left on the sidelines,” explains the director about “Solo Solito”, performed by actor César Espinoza Araya.
The production continues the creative work that Teatro de Ocasión has been developing since 2010, especially for young audiences and, this time, is committed – for the first time – to a one-person experience. With directing assistance by Álvaro Sáez Ramírez, art direction by Belén Abarza Castillo and costume design by Daniel Bagnara, the work aimed at a family audience is a sound and visual journey, where play and nostalgia invite you to travel through the life of the protagonist. In scenic terms, a radio will be the mediating channel where this special character will transform his environment through sounds and objects.

That is why we invite you to come across this new occasion experience,” says actor César Espinoza, as an invitation to attend the premiere performances as a family, both in the Region of La Araucanía and in Biobío.
The journey of “Solo Solito”
The premiere tour will begin on Tuesday, May 7, with two performances aimed at students from the Voipir School, in the Ñancul sector, in Villarrica, at 10:00 and 12:00. Later, on Friday, May 10, there will be two new performances, free and open to the community, at the Renaico Municipal Theater, at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The route will continue in La Araucanía with two other free presentations, this time at Casa Trashumantes, in Temuco, on Saturday, May 11, at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
The trip continues in the Biobío Region, on Friday, May 24, with two new performances, in Room 100 of the Artistas de Acero Cultural Corporation. The first of them, aimed at students, will take place at 11:00 a.m., and the second function, open to the public, will take place from 7:00 p.m.
